West recently created an immersive art installation for Flutter, an experiential gallery in Hollywood.
The exhibit, titled Tranquility 3020, imagines a futuristic world in which environmental damage has rendered all nature obsolete. In response to this, man has created a series of synthetic “Tranquility Rooms” designed to simulate the positive effects of being in nature such as heightened creativity, mental clarity, relaxation, etc.
The installation combines large scale photo collages, sound design and scent to create an environment in which visitors can relax and take a moment to appreciate details of individual plants and insects. Tranquility 3020 encourages the appreciation of nature while reminding the viewer of the risk of environmental damage.
